The Leviathan of Anish Kapoor
Ambitious artistic confrontation, Monumenta invites a renowned contemporary artist each year to occupy the 13,500 square meters of the Grand Palais Nave with an artwork created specifically for the occasion. This year, British artist of Indian origin Anish Kapoor will take over the reins for the fourth edition of this gigantic experience. Monumenta marks the return of the artist to Paris, 30 years after his very first exhibition, with the ambitious project of creating an aesthetic and physical choc. Object of the crime: a sculpture playing between depth and surface, reflecting with the Nave of the Grand Palais and thus drawing us into a kind of infinity. An exhibition which promises to be… monumental.
“Monumenta 2011-Anish Kapoor”, exhibition until June 23rd 2011 at the Grand Palais.
Open from 10 am to 7 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and from 10 am to 12 am from Thursdays to Sundays. Closed on Mondays.
Price: 5 euros full price and 2,50 euros reduced price.
